A couple of weeks ago, the family and I went to the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. The new space, exhibitions and graphics deserve all the hype they’ve been getting. Not only was every child engaged and excited about design, but so were all of the grandparents, teens, twenty-somethings, etc. It was a really inspiring experience.
Highlights included: the room curated by the always-inspired Maira Kalman, the wallpaper pattern digital projector, the Abacus textile by Paul Rand (subsequent eBay searches have been fruitless), and the Herbert Bayer poster of Olivetti (1953).
Go, go, go!
