dott. is a strategic consulting practice dedicated to automotive and commercial vehicle aftermarket organizations and their leaders. The business was formed by Tammy Tecklenburg, a 25+ year, award-winning champion of diversity, equity and inclusion within the automotive aftermarket industry. Among other objectives, dott.’s mission is to elevate the industry through DEI, environmental governance and supplier diversity. A strategic business needs a strategic brand, and that’s where LetterShop came in.

Tammy came to us seeking naming, branding and creative assets that reflected her desire to stand out among competitors while simultaneously reflecting a clean, modern and sophisticated aesthetic. Our team needed to build a brand with personality, but also with the flexibility to grow into multiple industries.

A brand that grows with its business

Throughout the process, our approach was holistic. We began with in-depth discussions and exercises that helped define the business mission, values and objectives. Together, we collaborated on naming, tagline development and URL research that reinforced a memorable brand message.

Visualizing diversity of thought

Once we locked in the foundations of the brand message, we began to develop the visual identity. Our first step was to create a simple, modern logo that stood out in the field. From there, we built out a kit of brand assets, including a website and brand guidelines, that would enable Tammy to confidently promote dott. to industry leaders via speaking engagements, social media and press releases.

Social media engagement: a must

As a business based around networking, LinkedIn is a critical channel for dott.’s brand. To give them a running start, we provided a series of templates to populate with their own content and post on a regular cadence. We followed with training on asset updates to ensure each post was cohesive and on-brand.
